From Bandits to Badges: Vince Seck’s Watchful Eye Serving and Protecting the People of Nevada County [30-minute video]
Murphy & Redfern KNCO interview promoting the Nevada County Hisotrical Society Speaker Night.
Rose Murphy is a regular columnist with The Union.
Rose and Lisa met when Linda Jack at the Nevada County Historical Society asked Rose to review Crossing: A Chinese Family Railroad Novel for the quarterly Bulletin.
The two discovered they have a number of things in common. In their careers, they worked with Nevada Union High School students, they enjoy research and highlighting diverse stories that expand common knowledge beyond Gold Rush myths, and they are historical fiction writers.
Their styles also blend well while creating a combination of written articles paired with videos. In January 2025, they produced a Bulletin series about civic engagement and a film highlighting the Grass Valley Museum’s dire need for attention.
